The impact of configurators in the manufacturing industry

Aberdeen Group have surveyed the impact of configurators in the manufacturing industry. They found that companies using sales configurators have 30-80% higher profit margins. The best performing companies offer 3.5 times as many customizable features, yet are three time faster to respond with quotes. Among assemble-to-order industries, the best performing companies have a 76% higher use of sales configurators than their industry average. Among engineer-to-order industries, the best performing companies are 4.4 times more likely to use design automation, compared to their industry average.
